VOLUNTEER WITH VITA

Help our community file for free through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program!

Volunteers are an essential part of helping people access important tax credits and deductions like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit, Education Tax Credits and Child Care tax deductions.

Last year, nearly 400 VITA volunteers donated approximately 8,000 hours to this important financial stability program. Since 2006, VITA has filed nearly 110,000 returns, resulting in $141 million in saved tax preparation fees and refunds back into the community.

With over 50 locations across the Upstate of South Carolina, you can volunteer where it is most convenient for you. All sites vary in service hours and there is no minimum time requirement to volunteer. You can commit as much or as little time as you are available. No prior experience is necessary, and training is free!
