Located in the heart of Greenville, Step By Step Ministry Hope Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization providing transitional community living through our shelter and case management dedicated to advancing equity, empowerment, and social justice for formerly incarcerated individuals and people experiencing homelessness due to arrest or conviction histories.
Since 2008, SBSHPI has worked tirelessly to support formerly incarcerated women experiencing homelessness throughout Greenville, South Carolina, by providing outreach and emergency services with hopes to welcome shelter, case management, advocacy, and comprehensive supportive care services. Our mission is rooted in restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity for individuals impacted by systemic barriers to housing, employment, healthcare, and community reintegration.
SBSHPI stands firmly in its commitment to educate, empower, and equip reentry citizens with the tools and resources necessary to navigate complex systems, overcome personal and societal challenges, and achieve long-term stability. Through trauma-informed care, peer support, and holistic wellness approaches, we help participants address the effects of generational trauma, addiction, mental health challenges, and social exclusion.
At SBSHPI, we bridge critical gaps in housing and behavioral health services for marginalized individuals and nonviolent returning citizens. Our programs are designed to help individuals rebuild their lives, strengthen recovery, restore self-worth, and reclaim hope for a brighter future through safe shelter, recovery support, life-skills development, and access to comprehensive care services.
