Greenville Together: Day of Connection
Greenville Together, a hosted initiative of United Way of Greenville County, is a community-wide effort to functionally end homelessness in Greenville. Greenville Together outreach volunteers play a crucial role in reaching our goal of making homelessness a rare, brief, and non-recurring experience.
Connection and collaboration are at the heart of Greenville Together. We are looking for volunteers who will join the Greenville Together’s Outreach staff in small groups, connect with unhoused neighbors, and provide basic needs including food, water, basic medical supplies, and other resources. By engaging with our neighbors, volunteers will develop an understanding of homelessness that is hard to develop without first-hand knowledge. Whether you’re a neighbor with lived experience of homelessness, a community member, a local medical student, or a Greenville business owner, your service will make a positive impact on our local unhoused community and our work at Greenville Together.
Time commitment & Transportation: Volunteers will meet at United Way of Greenville County office at 105 Edinburg Ct. Greenville, SC 29607 at 8:30am for a 3-hour shift which includes a 30-minute introduction/brief. Transportation is provided during this volunteer opportunity.
Can I volunteer with a group? Absolutely! This outreach opportunity is great for groups of 8-10, which will be further split into small groups. We kindly ask that you help us prepare in advance. Please contact us at info@greenvilletogether.org with a brief description of your group.

What should I wear or bring? Our outreach team meets neighbors where they’re at. That oftentimes mean entering encampments or rough terrains. To ensure a fulfilling and safe experience for our volunteers, we ask that all volunteers come prepared with closed-toed shoes/sneakers, a completed waiver, and the ability to maneuver in and around various terrains.
