School Tools Distribution Day Volunteer Opportunity
Every student deserves to start the school year ready to learn.
Join United Way of Greenville County on Saturday, August 1, 2026, for School Tools, our annual back-to-school initiative that provides fully stocked backpacks to more than 3,000 Greenville County students.
As a School Tools volunteer, you will help create a welcoming and empowering experience for local families as they receive the supplies their students need to start the school year prepared and ready to succeed. Volunteers serve in a variety of roles throughout the event, including greeting families, assisting with registration, helping distribute backpacks, supporting food service, directing traffic and parking, and ensuring the event runs smoothly from start to finish.
Whether you're helping a student select a backpack, guiding a family through the event, or providing behind-the-scenes support, your service will help make the day a positive and memorable experience for thousands of children and families.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
- Parking and traffic assistance
- Registration and family welcome
- Family ambassadors and event guides
- Backpack distribution
- Supply runners and event support
- Food and beverage service
- Floater positions supporting event operations
- Spanish-language translation
Time Commitment: Flexible volunteer shifts available throughout the event.
