  • Wednesday, Aug 30: The Coop Homeschool Co-op / Advanced First Aid / Wilderness First Aid @The Red Dutch Barn in Greer
  • Saturday, Sept 16: Wilderness First Aid with Dr. Nathaniel Mann, MD / Wilderness First Aid / Middle and High School Girls and Boys (prior First Aid Experienced recommended @Blue Ridge Council, Boy Scouts of America in Greenville
  • Saturday, Oct 21: School Year CPR & First Aid / CPR & First Aid for Greenville County students, teachers, and administrators @J. Harley Bonds Career Center in Greer

 

The 500 Kids Project is providing free First Aid, CPR, Advanced First Aid, and Wilderness First Aid Training classes, and we are looking for volunteers to help with our training events!

The mission of the 500 Kids Project is to provide 500+ Kids First Aid training free of charge at our Events for our target populations. Our upcoming Special Projects Events (August - September) are targeting the following populations: Middle and High School students, Middle and High School Teachers and Administrators, Home School Community, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts.

FAQs

1. What can I expect? Training Volunteers assist with Skills Training. Facilitator Volunteers assist with Event Activities.

2. What should I wear? Dress comfortably for indoor events.

3. What should I bring? Training Volunteers may bring additional Training Supplies. Online Volunteer Registration at The500Foundation.org is required prior to Event.

4. What's provided? All training, activity, and event supplies will all be provided. Bottled water will be provided for everyone as needed. Facilities include restroom access.

5. How do I get there?

6. My activity is outdoors. What do I do if the weather is bad? These are indoor events that may include outdoor activities. If the weather is bad, the full event will take place indoors.

8. Any additional supplies or tools needed from volunteers? No tools or supplies are needed from our volunteers. Training Volunteer may bring Training Supplies.

9. Who is doing the First Aid Training portion of the event? The event is sponsored by The 500 Foundation Inc; The Executive Director (Jayson Sherrod) will be head Facilitator and Trainer, and select Advanced First Aid / Wilderness First Aid Events will have guest Specialist Trainers in attendance, and Trainers from here on this Volunteer Page, and from The 500 Foundation Healthcare Professional Volunteer Network.

10. Are there real First Aid certifications being offered to the children? Our Special Projects Training Events do not include Certification Modules, however the Training is customized for the population in attendance. Scouts Events include First Aid merit badges, and other Events include other focused knowledge and skill objectives. The 500 Foundation is planning Events for Spring & Summer 2024 that include Certification modules.
